Have you ever wanted to chane something you couldn’t? 

In Tacoma, everything is chaos. Those who can change you by the touch of skin to skin are being taken and sold as slaves. Those are called Curse Workers. A proud working city, turned to war.
In Seattle, troops are preparing to storm their neighboring city for workers and sell them. There are those who are still free and try to fight for their freedom. Then there are those who are fighting to go to Jersey City, where they can be free.

When her parents forced her into the troops, they had a firm belief that it would open their daughters eyes to the harsh truth of workers. But it just pushed Chelsea in the wrong direction. Or the right one for her. You see, Chelsea loves workers. She’s the only one in Seattle that thinks it’s cruel and unfair and just not right for them to storm Tacoma and sell the workers as slaves. She has no idea that she, herself, is a worker. No one does. Yes, she has taken a few captures, but she whispers that she is going to help them when she does. She helps those in need get away under unsuspecting eyes. Chelsea’s main goal is to help free them and eventually find the brother that was sent away before she was born.

Abandoned by her boyfriend in the fight for her life, Audrey joined forced with her cousin in the fight. She’s even tempered and a bit overly dramatic but knows where she’s going and what she wants. Audrey is one of the only transformation workers that have not been captured just yet. She is fearless and some might call her a bit selfish but in this world you have to fight for yourself. She is a hopeless romantic and believes that her boyfriend went to find help but deep down she thinks he left just so she would be captured while he remains free.

Working is her life and her job, as a professional boxer it is Bridget’s job to make sure she wins almost every round. She’s quite good at her job too. She’s smart and witty and not to mention beautiful. As a Singer, she thinks she has to constantly prove her worth and work her way back up to the top of the food chain so to speak. Once the Singer’s were powerful and not criminals. Bridget wants nothing more than to work everyone until they know that she can whip them to be her bitch. Sarcasm is a second language to her and she knows just what to say to make men melt in the palm of her hands. Really, her grandfather thinks she should be a prostitute with everyone she sleeps with.

Living in Tacoma, Carly has always been wanted for being a dream worker. Pampered all her life and raised to be a good little girl, she was a parent’s dream child. But she was always bullied at the prep school they had to attend. Working became her only form of self defense and Carly was known for her work. But then Seattle troops came and took her away to sell to other cities who pay good monney for curse workers.

Once turned into a white cat, Lila was the prized daughter of the head of the Zacharov family. Fierce and vicious, she has a strong head on her shoulders and moved to Tacoma to start anew. But that soon changed as it was stormed by troops and people were taken into captivity. Lila was no exception as she was taken as well being the rarest worker in the area. Now, she leads those who want to fight their way to Jersey.

Living in Tacoma was once a dream for this girl, as an emotion worker, Marly is rare and wanted among crime families for her power. But she was on the run. A bright and brutal girl, she fought until the very end where she was captured. Now, Marly is fighting her way out of encampment so she can make her way to Jersey and be free. But freedom comes with a price being the distant cousin of the Zacharov’s.

When he was born, his parents were under the impression that only one child could be born with the ability to curse work per family. So, when they could, they immediately got him tested. Once the results came back positive, Christopher was sent off to adoption without even being checked for what kind of work he could do. He knows that he has a sister in Seattle that he never met. And he knows what kind of worker he is now. Being captive isn’t easy on Christopher. He rarely eats and gets beaten regularly by the troops. Everyone is. But it’s worse on him. He’s a good guy with a big heart made of pure gold. But they don’t see that. The troops only see Christopher Carlisle, body/physical worker, scum.

Raised to hate workers, Hayden hates even his own ability. He hates the fact that he can work others at the touch of skin to skin and joined the troops when he hit the young age of sixteen. He can’t stand the fact that he can’t do anything about it. Refusing to fall in love and have kids, Hayden refuses to pass on the one thing that he despises about himself to one of his own. But fact of the matter is that he’s falling in love with Sargent Chelsea Carlisle. He is ruthless in his tactics and will bring Tacoma to its knees.

Born into the most prestigious family, Roger thought that he would be safe. But with his entire family being taken, chances were that he would be next. He’s cocky and sarcastic in the best kinds of way, a real sweet talker. Though most chalk it up to him being a luck worker. But Roger never tells anyone whether or not he works people. That’s between himself and the people he “works”.

Not what you would call a great bookie, Nathaniel works millions of people everyday without a second thought. With his sister, Bridget, being a professional boxer, he’s able to work the crowd and give them false odds on who will win. Since no one ever bets on the supposed underdog, he can easily pocket all the winnings and go safely on his way home. Broken mirrors and bad luck aren’t really that bad in his mind. As long as he’s able to keep up the work, Nathaniel could care less out his luck. This would work wonders for the Zacharov family of which he’s supposed to work for. But with his sister and his hatred for them, they will never see anything from the dynamic duo.

As a memory worker, Oliver had it good. Working was like a second form of breathing to him. Bad grades? Alter the teacher’s memory to make them change it to a good one. Have to do a dirty job? Alter their memory so he doesn’t have to. But he worked so much that he had to start using notebooks to write his days down in great detail. Post it notes liter his house telling him that his name is Oliver Goodman. When Tacoma was stormed, Oliver up and left his girlfriend to fiend for herself as he went to Seattle.

Starting at a young age, Barron tricked his little brother, Cassel into thinking that he was not a worker. As a matter of fact, he took those memories from him and replaced them with others. But he’s the only one who still keeps in contact with the young boy other than their mother. He mas made Cassel think that not only does he not have to ability to curse work but that Barron himself is a luck worker and that Cassel had killed his best friend. Now, Barron has been working with the troops of Seattle to capture curse workers. No one knows he is one.
